The shopOur shop is set up in an old post office building, and is spacious and well equipped, with 2 tablesaws, a jointer, 2 jointer/planers, bandsaw, drill press, stroke sander, edge sander, joinery tools, 2 lathes, 7 workbenches, and numerous high quality hand and hand power tools.
PoliciesTo sign up for any workshop, a deposit of one half the tuition is required, along with an application. The balance is due 14 days prior to the class begins. If you cancel before this time, your tuition is fully refundable. No refunds will be made within 14 days of the start of a workshop. If we need to cancel for any reason, your entire tuition will be refunded. A list of recommended tools and personal safety equipment well be sent upon acceptance, along with a release form. You can bring the release with you to class. |

Jeff MillerJeff Miller is a furniture designer, craftsman, teacher, and author of woodworking books and articles (he's also a former classical musician, an avid cyclist, runner, and skier, and a dad). Jeff's furniture has been shown in galleries and shows nationwide, and has won numerous awards. His furniture is in the Decorative Arts Collection of the Chicago History Museum. Jeff's first book, Chairmaking and Design, is now available in a second edition from Linden Publishing. The companion DVD, Chairmaking Techniques, is available from The Taunton Press. Both won the 1998 Stanley Tools Awards for the best "how-to" book and video. Jeff's second book, Beds was released by Taunton in the fall of 1999. And his third book, Children's Furniture Projects was released in the fall of 2002.Jeff writes frequently for Fine Woodworking Magazine. |
